[PCB Information Network] On December 18, according to Reuters, Huawei has won more than 25 fifth-generation mobile communication (5G) commercial contracts, ranking first in the world in scale and has shipped more than 10,000 5G base stations.

Hu Houkun, Huawei's rotating chairman, made the remarks at a press conference at the company's Shenzhen headquarters, adding that Huawei is expected to generate more than $100 billion in revenue this year. The company reported 2017 revenue of $92 billion.

Mr Hu said: "Despite the efforts of some markets to create fear of Huawei and use politics to interfere with industry growth, we are proud to say that our customers still trust us."

He added: "When it comes to security allegations, it's best to let the facts speak for themselves. The fact is that Huawei's record on security is clean."

Recently, the news released by China's 5G Promotion Group shows that Huawei is the first manufacturer to complete NSA (non-independent networking) test and SA (independent networking) function test based on 3GPP R15 international standard. In the third phase of the test organized by the 5G propulsion group, the performance of Huawei products is in the leading position in the industry.

Huawei's success in 5G is due to Huawei's determination in investment. Huawei started 5G research and innovation in 2009, launched a key technology verification prototype in 2012, invested US $0.6 billion in 5G research and development in 2013, launched a system test prototype in 2015, participated in the formulation of 3GPP R15 standard from 2015 to 2017, and invested 5 billion yuan in 5G commercialization in 2018.

It is understood that Huawei currently accounts for about 26% of 5G patents, with the highest proportion of patents.
